British Council Reading for Life

Reading for Life is back this year with a completely new collection of books and workshops. Over 1,120 jubilant kids embarked on the reading adventure in 2020 from cities across India. Especially curated for 7 to 12-year olds, the programme aims to take your child on a journey from ‘Learning to Read’ to ‘Reading to Learn’ and help them grow as an engaged reader.

The three-week online programme challenges kids to read at least one book every week from our curated online collection of e-books, audiobooks and comics.

While the different format of books will help children to strengthen their reading and listening skills, our expert-curated workshops and book review writing tasks will support them in enhancing their writing and inferring skills along with boosting their creativity as well as critical thinking.

Registrations are now open for the batches starting on 1 May and 12 June.
Registration Fee: INR 1,700 per participant.

Special offer: If you are a British Council library member you can sign up for the programme at INR 1,200.

How it works?

The programme will run in two batches - first batch starts on 1 May and the next on 12 June. Every child who joins the programme:

will have access to our online library
reads at least ‘three books in three weeks’ to complete the challenge.
writes and submits a review after reading each book.
participates in three specially designed workshops during the three-week programme.
receives a Certificate of Achievement endorsed by the British Council.
