World Space Week : Interschool Painting Competition

About World Space Week
World Space Week (WSW) is the largest annual space event worldwide with 1,400 events in more than 80 countries. It is an exciting international astronomical event organized by the United Nations General Assembly from 4-10 October every year. These dates commemorate two historic events:
  • 4 October, 1957 marks the launch of the first human-made Earth satellite, Sputnik 1.
  • 10 October, 1967 marks the signing of the Treaty on Principles governing the activities of states in the exploration and peaceful uses of outer space.
SPACE is glad to organise and annual WSW Interschool Painting competition for students at primary and middle level from our associated schools only. Entries should be submitted as the scans of the paintings or as clicked images of the paintings. Painting submission starts from 5th October 2015 & can be submitted till 28th October 2015.

Categories:
Group I: I to III
Group II: IV and V
Group III: VI to VIII
Group IV: IX to XII

Let your imagination soar! Visualise new planets, asteroids and blackholes; think of settlements and colonies in space, imagine aliens. Draw any of these!

Award categories: 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winner in each category, which will be announced on the SPACE website on 6 November, 2015. Prizes will be given at the SPACE Annual Meet to be held in December 2015.

Most Popular - There is also a special category ‘Most Popular’ for the painting that receives the maximum number of likes on Facebook, either on our official account or on the participant’s personal account, with the hashtags #WSW2015 and #SpaceIndia. All participants will receive participation certificates by SPACE.

Terms & Conditions
  • Only one painting per student will be accepted.
  • There are no limits to the number of paintings that can be submitted by a school
  • Painting should be scanned or photographed with high resolution (200 dpi or better)
  • Original painting should be on A-3 size paper sheet.
  • Any coloring medium can be used, however no computer generated paintings will be accepted (eg. using software such as Illustrator)
  • All the entries submitted will become SPACE property. Further, it can be used anywhere by SPACE.
  • Paintings will be judged on the basis of originality, technique, style, composition and imagination as well as relevance to theme.

Design a Logo for Dr. Ambedkar Foundation

The Dr. Ambedkar Foundation (DAF) is an autonomous body under the administrative control of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. The Foundation has been entrusted with the responsibility of managing, administering and carrying on the important and long-term schemes and programmes identified during the Centenary Celebration of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. The main objectives of the foundation inter alia include implementation of programmes and activities for furthering the ideology and message of Babasaheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar among the masses in India as well as abroad.

The activities and programmes currently pursued by the Foundation are as given below:-

• Setting up of Dr. Ambedkar National Public Library at Janpath.
• Dr. Ambedkar National Award for Social Understanding and Upliftment of Weaker Sections.
• Dr. Ambedkar International Award for Social Change.
• Dr. Ambedkar Chairs in Universities/Institution for carrying out research on the thoughts and ideals of Babasaheb.
• Publication of the Collected Works of Babasaheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar into Hindi and other regional languages
• Dr. Ambedkar National Merit Award Schemes for meritorious student of Secondary Examination belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes
• Organization of seminars, symposia, conferences, workshops, lectures, exhibitions and fairs on the life and mission of Dr. Ambedkar
• Celebration of Birth Anniversary and Mahaparinirwan Diwas of Dr. Ambedkar of 14th April and 6th December respectively every year.
• Publication of Samajik Nyay Sandesh, a monthly Magazine in Hindi
• Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Schemes
• Dr. Ambedkar Samajik Samta Kendra Yojna
• Celebration of Birth Anniversary of Great Saints
• Dr. Ambedkar National Merit Award Schemes for meritorious students of Senior Secondary Examination belonging to Scheduled Castes.
• Dr. Ambedkar National Relief to SC victims of Atrocities.

Presently, the Foundation does not have any logo of its own. Therefore, invitation is given welcoming inputs for designing a logo for DAF.

This task seeks inputs to design a Logo for Dr. Ambedkar Foundation.

The last date of submission is 18th September, 2015.

The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/-.

Technical Parameters
 • The participant should upload the logo as a file in JPG or PNG format.
• The winner of the competition shall be required to submit the design in as editable and open file format and on a digital.
 • Please do not imprint or watermark your logo design.
• Please note that the logo design must be original and should not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957.
 • Logo should preferably be designed in colour.
• Please bear in mind that for actual utilization of the winning logo, the size may vary from 3 cms X 3 cms to 75 X 75 cms. While designing this aspect should be kept in mind.
 • Entry must be submitted to the Creative Corner Section of MyGov.nic.in
• Make sure our MyGov profile is accurate and updated as we will use the information on the profile for further communication. This includes your name, photo number. Entries by those with incomplete profiles would be rejected.

BEE School, State and National Level Painting Competition for School Children 2015

The Ministry of Power, Government of India, invites children to paint a world of imagination and discover the magic of clean, green and energy efficient future; a future, which they will inherit. In this process, the children will not only learn a few l good things but will also teach us a few new things.
a. School Level Painting Competition 2015 for the students of 4th, 5th and 6th standards under category ‘A’ and of 7th, 8th & 9th standards under category ‘B’ has been launched in all the States/UTs through an advertisement in the print media starting from July, 2015 by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).
b. School Principals are requested to organize Painting Competition at School level for 4th , 5th &
6th standard students under Category ‘A’ and for 7th, 8th & 9th standard students under Category

‘B’ of their respective school for 2-hour duration. Students can use any size of paper,  but preferably A4
size drawing sheet, and students can pick any one of the following Theme Topics:

The children can use Pencil, Pencil Colour, Crayons, WaterColour etc. The children may consider the following points while painting. • The entry can be poster or a painting. • Use of Collage/Patchwork is not permitted. • Individual Jury member will have to give marks (evaluate) to paintings on the following points to arrive at final decision. i. Relevance of the theme depicting the selected topics. ii. Execution of concept/theme. iii. Overall visual appeal, handling of given space and use of appropriate colour combination. 
School Level Painting Competition :
School Principals are requested to organize painting competition of the 2 hours duration for 4th, 5th & 6th standard students under Category ‘A’ and for 7th, 8th & 9th standard students under Category ‘B’. Students can use any size of paper but preferably A4 size and painting material such as pencil, colour pencils, crayons & water colours. Students can select any one of the above mentioned themes marked for their category for painting. (Schools located in National Capital Region will have the choice to participate in the Delhi State Level Painting competition)
School principals will select best paintings from each Category‘A& ‘B’ and send them along with the information on number of students participated in each category at School Level Painting Competition to the Nodal Officer of the State/UT whose address is given below so as to reach him by 30th September, 2015
State Level Painting Competition:
50 (plus 5 reserves) best paintings each for Categories ‘A’ & ‘B’ will be selected by a Committee of Experts/Jury.
Selected students from categories ‘A’ & ‘B’ will be called at designated place in State/UT for two hours on-the-spot Painting Competition to be held on 6th November, 2015.
Each participating student from Categories ‘A’ & ‘B’ will be paid Rs 1000/- in cash and a participation certificate.
To & fro Sleeper class/AC ChairCar/ 3″AC rail-fare or State Roadways bus fare forthe participating student and two guardians for Category ‘A’ but only one guardian for Category ‘B’ will also be reimbursed on the day of the competition.
Prizes shall be given away on the same day.
Competition for Category ‘B’ will terminate at State level & first 3 Painting of winners at State Level will be evaluated for their selection for National level prizes
National Level Painting Competition:
1st, 2nd & 3rd prize winners of State Level Painting Competition of the Category ‘A’ from each State/UT will be invited to Delhi to participate in “National Level Painting Competition” to be held on 12th December, 2015.
Only paintings of 1, 2 and 3 prize winners of State Level Painting Competition of the Category ‘B’ from each State/UT will be evaluated at Delhi by a Committee of Experts/Jury nominated for their selection for National level prizes.
Boarding & Lodging, to & fro sleeper class /AC Chair Car/ 3 AC rail-fare or State Roadways bus fare by the shortest route for 108 participants and two guardians of Category ‘A’ and 12 winners of Category ‘B’ along with one guardian will be reimbursed. In addition, each participating student will be paid a sum of Rs. 10001- as incidentals and given a participation certificate.
National Level winners of both Categories ‘A’ & ‘B’ will be awarded cash prizes by the Chief Guest on the “National Energy Conservation Day Function” to be held in Delhi on 14th December, 2015
The Selection Committee/Jury will select 23 best paintings/posters for Category ‘A’;

First Prize (1no) Rs 1,00,000/-
 II Second Prize (4nos) Rs 50,000/-
 III Third Prize (8nos) Rs 25,000/-
 IV Consolation Prize (10nos) Rs 10,000/- f.
The selection Committee/Jury will also select 12 prize winning paintings for Category ‘B’ from the 1st, 2nd & 3rd winners of State Level Painting Competition;
 I First Prize (1no) Rs 1,00,000/-
II Second Prize (2nos) Rs 50,000/-
III Third Prize (3nos) Rs 25,000/-

Children’s Day 2015 – Stamp Design Competition

Department of Posts is holding a Stamp Design Competition. The theme of the competition is
“A Day in the Rains”.
2. The Terms and Conditions to participate in the competition are as follows:-
i. Entries are invited for Stamp Design Competition. The participants are to make an original design on this subject (should not be copy of picture painted by someone else).
ii. Any citizen of India below 18 years of age can participate in this contest. The design could be in ink, water colour, oil colour or any other medium (computer printed/printout will not be allowed). The design submitted should be such that can be depicted on the stamps in a visually appealing manner.
iii. Participants are free to use drawing paper, art paper or any other type of white paper of A4 Size.
iv. The following particulars should be written legibly on the reverse of the design:

1. Name of the participant*
2. Age*
3. Gender
4. Nationality*
5. Full and complete residential address with Pin code
6. Phone/Mobile Number*
7. E-Mail ID (if available)
*It is compulsory to provide the information.

v. An undertaking stating that ‘The artwork submitted is original and no copyright issues are involved’ should be sent along with the entry. In case of any legal dispute related to copyright issue, Department of Posts will not be liable for the same.
vi. The design should be sent without being folded, through “Speed Post” only, in A4 size envelope. The participants should mention “Stamp Design Contest” on the envelope in which the drawing is sent.
vii. Selected designs may be considered for use on stamps and other philatelic material.
The prize money will be as follows:-
 First prize 10.000/-
 Second prize 6,000/-
 Third prize 4,000/-
viii. The entries should reach on the following address by 31.08.2015.The entries received after the last date of receipt will not be entertained.

Non-customers of ICICI Bank can participate in the contest but shall not be eligible for the contest prizes. However, if any non-ICICI Bank customer participates in Inter-School / Inter-Society contest, he/she is eligible for the participation prize – ‘WYRA E-learning Program’ which can be claimed by visiting the ICICI Bank branch
