The number of scholarships will riot exceed 85 for open category and 15 for Wards of employees of Airports Authority of India for the year 2018-19.

DURATION OF SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship will be given initially upto 31st March 2019 which is extendable based on the individual's performance/improvement in his/her event.

"Khelo India" - National Programme for Development of Sports under Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Championship District Level championship (Thrissur) will be held on 4-5 January 2017 at different venues.

School Sports Promotion Foundation [S S P F]  is a non-profit philanthropic body.
In partnership with the Sports Authoirty of India, [S A I] S S P F has launched National Talent Search & Nurture [NTSN] initiative to:
Search talent through structured tournaments every year and
Nurture talent through organised coaching camps at District, State and National Levels.
SSPF will:
Scout for best talent by conducting competitions/tournaments at all levels;
Identify co-ordinate and improve the use of existing infrastructure
Arrange for top-class coaching at district, state and national levels;
Identify resources, support and coaching staff for each discipline;
Build teams at national and international levels; and,
Forge alliances and partnerships with individuals, sports bodies worldwide, governments and educational institutions and everybody who supports the cause of sports and sports persons.
Through its tournaments, SSPF will identify talent and encourage them to compete for their respective district and State teams to be able to rise to national and international levels of competitive sport.

SSPF has put together a chain of coordinators to ensure that the school children will get to showcase their talent and be rewarded as well. The coordinators at the cluster, district and state levels will work in tandem with schools in providing the talent the right platform to show their skills.

A combination of selectors, umpires/referees/match officials will pick talented players for trials after the conclusion of district, State and National level tournaments. A set of players would then be selected to undergo well-organised coaching camps at each level. The camps will provide appropriate coaching and physical training to the selected players. At the end of the coaching camp at each level, the respective district, State or National team shall be picked.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

The NTSN programme has been envisaged as an event for schools, though the pyramid will see district and State teams being chosen for the higher levels of the tournament

School Sports Promotion Foundation and Sports Authority of India have entered into a co-operation agreement to launch Talent Search & Nurture [NT-SN] in all schools across India. The program is open for participation to all schools; government, private, municipal, aided or of any other description and recognized by any state of affiliated to any board in India.


The program is also available to schools located overseas and affiliated to any Indian board. NT-SN will reach out to every school in the country to search & spot talented players between the age group of 10 to 15 years. Only school teams are permitted to participate.

The Departments of Sports and School Education & Literacy, Government of India have supported the program and have advised all state secretaries of education, state boards, central boards, Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas to participate in NT-SN.

Doordarshan has agreed to telecast live selected matches at the State & National level.

All participants would be awarded a certificate of participation. It includes, student players and match officials. Certificate of Merit shall be awarded to those excelling in the sport at any level, including the schools. Students forming part of the National team would be considered for award of 100% scholarship to study in the best boarding school also designated as CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE for a specific sport. They would also get opportunities of playing at international levels.


Students in this CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE shall, in addition to best academic support also receive the international level of sports coaching for the remaining years of his school education.

Registration Process
Every school that desires to participate in the National Talent – Search & Nurture program must register first before entering the school team.

The Head of the sports department/Physical Education Teacher of your may enter the School details in the school registration form. This includes information about:

Location of the school (Nearest Landmark)
A verification mail will be sent at your school email id together with an SMS on the registered mobile numbers.

After confirmation of the school registration school shall be provided with the User Name and Password for entering their teams for the tournaments. You must ensure that only the authorized persons are allowed to operate your school account.

As your head of sports prepares to enter your school teams for the tournament, he may keep the following ready;

The team entered by the head of sports shall now be redirected to your email id and you are requested to verify all entries and ensure that all eligibility norms are met before you certify and submit the team nomination.

On the basis of the online entries, your school would be able to download all student identity cards for participation in the tournament and they would also be able to download their certificates of participation.

All the records of tournament and details of merit certificates, participation etc. will also be uploaded on the official website of SSPF. The online process of SSPF will ensure transparency and sharing of due information.
