CBSE - INTEL AI-thons: AI readiness workshops for students

CBSE in collaboration with Intel, is hosting three days deep dive hands on workshop: AI – Thon: AI Readiness workshop. The full day workshop aims to introduce students to the basics of AI and taking them through the complete journey concluding with converting ideas to projects. This is in sync with the inclusion of AI as a subject by CBSE from the current academic year.

 AI-thon is an extensive three-day workshop for students from 9 am to 5 pm on all days.
 Each participating school should select only two students who fulfil the eligibility criteria.

 CBSE will not provide any TA/DA or stay facility to the participants. The participating schools shall have to make the travel and stay arrangements for the participants.

The 2019 Padma Awards emphasizes on acknowledging the tireless efforts of those who have been rendering services to their communities and the society at large. MyGov.in is organising an online quiz on Health and Wellness Centres for all Indian citizens above the age of 12.

Online quiz will be conducted by MyGov at https://www.mygov.in/
The Quiz is open to all Indian Citizens
Duration of the Quiz is 100 seconds during which a maximum of 10 questions can be answered
.The quiz will be in English.
The criteria of selecting the winners will be maximum correct answers in the shortest time subject to the stipulation of 10 questions attempt and 100 seconds duration.
MoHFW reserves the rights to cancel or amend all or any part of the Quiz and/or the Terms and Conditions.
However, any changes to the Terms and Conditions or cancellation of the Quiz, will be updated/ posted on the platform.
The quiz is open only to Indian Citizens above the age of 12.
An individual can participate only once in the quiz.Employees, directly or indirectly, connected with Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and MyGov are not eligible to participate in the quiz competition.
The same mobile number and same email address cannot be used more than once to participate in the quiz.

Winners will be awarded following cash prizes:-
1st prize- Rs. 10,000 (one contestant)

Participants may use bilingual language during their speech.
Constituencies would be allotted anonymously.
There is no limitation on the number of participations from one institute. (i.e. any number of students can participate from one institute).

Guidelines:

  • Any 2 students (senior category - class 7th to 9th) can form a team.
  • The schools can send any number of teams in the senior category.
  • Team should consists of 2 students of same category and same school
  • Entry fee per team is Rs.200/- only (Rs.100/- Per Member)
  • 6 teams for the Regional Finals on stage would be selected based on a written preliminary round at each centre, both of which would be held on the same day. Only maximum of 2 teams from a school will be permitted for the final event on stage.

On the occasion of Saksham 2019, Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, has initiated to organize a Short Film Contest through MyGov. A Short Film Contest invites All Indian Citizens to make Short (maximum 3 minute) Films based on the Benefits of Cycling, Fuel Conservation and Environment Protection relating it to today and the future of India.

The objective of the competition is to make the General Public aware of the relevance of fuel conservation, which will help protect the environment for the future generations to come as well as to focus on various benefits of cycling to the environment and the people.

About the Competition:
1. The Short Film is open only for Indian Citizens
2. Submission of the Short Film will start from 16th January 2019.
3. The duration of the Short Film should be maximum 3 minutes.
4. The Short Film can be made in any of the 22 Official Indian Languages with transcript (in verbatim) in Hindi or English.

OBJECTIVES OF ORGANISING THE NATIONAL YOUTH PARLIAMENT FESTIVAL

To hear the voice of youth between 18 and less than 25 years of age, who are allowed to vote but cannot stand as a candidate for election, through deliberations in Youth Parliaments at district level and above.
To encourage the youth to engage with public issues, understand the common man's point of view, form their opinions and express it in an articulate manner.
To develop and enhance decision making abilities.
To develop in them a respect and tolerance for the views of others.
To develop in them an understanding that respect for rules is essential for conducting any discussion systematically and effectively.
To obtain and document their opinions on Vision of New India in 2022.
To make available their views to policy makers and implementers to take it forward.

FORMAT
Youth Parliaments will be conducted at three levels:

District Youth Parliament (DYP) will be conducted at the district level. Preliminary rounds of screening will be conducted to select youth for participation in the DYP. The youth will be selected through two screening processes i.e. digital & walk-in (explained below).

State Youth Parliament (SYP): The youth selected by a Jury from the District Youth Parliament will participate at the State level in SYP.

National Youth Parliament (NYP): The youth selected by a Jury from the State Youth Parliament will participate at the National level in NYP.

TIMELINE
Preliminary rounds for screening for participation in the District Youth Parliament (DYP):

Digital Process: Registration of participants and uploading of contents through YouTube video on mygov portal (innovate.mygov.in/youth-parliament): 12th to  18th January, 2019.
Walkin Process: Screening at designated Institutions in the Districts: 17th to 19th January, 2019

District Youth Parliament (DYP) to be organised in specified districts:  24th to 28th January, 2019
State Youth Parliament (SYP): 05th to 07th February, 2019
National Youth Parliament (NYP): 23rd to 24th February, 2019

CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION
Youth, to participate in Youth Parliament must be above 18 and less than 25 years of age as on 30th June, 2018. The onus will be on the participant to furnish correct information in this regard. Furnishing of false information will lead to disqualification from participation in the Parliament at whatever stage.

LANGUAGE

The youth can participate in Hindi, English or the official language of the State Government concerned from which the youth is participating at level of screening for DYP; DYP & SYP.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITION

The three best speakers at the national level will be awarded Rs 2 lakhs, Rs 1.50 lakhs and Rs 1 lakh respectively alongwith a certificate of merit. Every participant will be given a certificate of participation (format will be provided by Ministry).
The 2 best speakers from each State Youth Parliament (SYP) will participate at the national level. A certificate of merit will be awarded to the best speakers from the State in the panel. Every participant will be given a certificate of participation.

It is that time of the year again when many young friends among us will be appearing for board examinations and other entrance examinations. Last year during Pariksha Pe Charcha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with several students from across the country.   • The Entry Fee is INR 249 per film.
  • Multiple entries from the same participant are accepted, but each film must be accompanied by a separate form and entry fee.
