>> Illiteracy is behind all kinds of ills, from gender inequality and unemployment to malnutrition and infant mortality and issues like child labour and population growth are consequences of illiteracy. Therefore How Illiteracy: A Curse on Development and the only problem hindering our efforts to become a developed nation?
Rules For Photo Contest
FAMILY APPROPRIATE
Photos submitted should be appropriate for people of all ages to look at and appreciate. We ask that you do NOT submit photos that contain nudity, sexualized or pornographic content.
KEEP IT REAL
Photos submitted must be from the actual environment based on the theme.
NO COLLAGES/BORDERS FOR PHOTOS
Please submit only single photos. Any combined, collaged, or “diptic” photos or photos containing border would be denied.
NO WATERMARKS
Photos containing a watermark of any kind would be denied, to protect the anonymity of the contest,
NO DUPLICATES
The contestants may upload maximum three entries and should not duplicate.
NO RESUBMITTING PHOTOS
Photos, Paintings or Videos already prized in any of previous contest are not accepted and eligible to win.

Rules For Painting
- This painting contest is open to any painter.
- Paintings must be created in physical media (no digital "paintings") (i.e. Oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, etc. Note - we have nothing against digital mediums - but we don't want to judge them against physical paintings.)
- You may enter 3 entries.
- You may enter paintings that have submitted to other contest but received no awards in other shows, If your painting wins an award in our painting contest, it will not be eligible to be submitted elsewhere.
- ALL entries (not just winners) will be displayed on this website. Each entry becomes part of the public, historical online contest catalog and will not be removed at a later date.
- There is a size restriction.You may upload whatever image size you are comfortable sharing (We suggest a minimum of 600 pixels on the longest side, so the judge has enough resolution to discern details) Paintings will be judged on the following criterion: Drawing, Values, Edges, Composition, Color, Paint Manipulation (Brushwork), and subject matter selection.
- Your painting must be your original concept and not a copy of anyone else's copyrighted material (If your image infringes upon another's copyright it will be disqualified) You may only submit your artworks that you, painted. (we reserve the right to demand proof that is your original artwork created solely by you....if it's not then your entry will be disqualified....and other bad stuff will happen [ominous music here])
- Make sure that your painting is signed and that the signature is visible in the image you upload
- You will not have to provide the painting physically, so you don't worry about having to ship it.
- Artworks may be submitted until midnight, central time on the last day of the month.
- All submissions must be made through this website, email submissions and physical submission can't be accepted.
- The decision of the jury and the judge is final.
- By entering this art competition, you are granting us a non-exclusive perpetual with credit and links to you, of course).By entering the competition, you agree to abide by all rules. Competition beginning and ending dates are listed on the home page of this website.
Rules For Short Film
This is a short film competition and hence ONLY Short Films should be submitted. The entries can be short digital animation films too on the topic.
DURATION: The films shall not be more than 3 (Three) minutes (180 seconds), including the beginning and end credits. Films exceeding this time limit are liable to be rejected. The minimum length should be 30 seconds including credits.
The short films may be in their original language, Films submitted previously to any other festival will not be considered for this contest. If found later, will be disqualified for the contest/prize withheld.
FORMAT: The films may be shot in MPEG4 or AVI format or through a mobile phone.
RIGHT TO SCREEN: The participants grant the Organisers. the non-exclusive rights to a screen (non – commercial) their film/entry on their respective websites, at the festival and other associated screenings.
COPYRIGHT: The Film must not contain any copyrighted work(s) belonging to third parties unless (1) Participants have a license to use such works in the Film; or (2) , oruse participants’ Film makes of such works is a fair one under the copyright laws. Participants will retain any licenses and provide them to organisers upon request.
