Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme 2020-21

The object of the scheme is to provide facilities to outstanding talented children selected in the age group of 10 to 14 years (as per the cut off eligibility dates), studying either in recognized schools or belonging to families practicing traditional performing arts for getting specialized training in various cultural fields such as traditional forms of music, dance, drama as well as painting, sculpture and crafts, laying special emphasis on rare art forms, which are in the process of becoming extinct.
APPLICATION 
Application for the scholarship should be submitted by the parents/guardians in the prescribed form in one field/subject only, after getting necessary recommendations from school/ institution and guru/teacher, where the applicant is studying and receiving training respectively, directly to the CCRT, New Delhi by 31st January, 2019. Duly completed applications from children belonging to the families practicing traditional arts will be obtained through renowned Gurus/Institutions by the CCRTdirectly.
The Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme is implemented at the national level. There are hundreds of art forms practiced in our country. Since the number of scholarships available are limited, only exceptionally talented and outstanding students need to apply.
Children whose date of birth is in between 01.07.2006 and 30.06.2010 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply for the award of scholarships for the year 2010-21. Minimum three (03) years' training in the field of art form in which scholarship is being applied, either with a guru or in an institution is essential.
Applicant students must attach the attested photocopy of ST certificate (in case of Tribal Students) or certificate of disability (in case of differently abled children) issued by the Competent Authority, whichever is applicable, otherwise their applications will not be considered in these categories. 
Applicant Students are required to submit a certificate from the Guru/teacher imparting training, clearly mentioning the details regarding the training received by them alongwith the latest Bio-data of the Guru/teacher.

375 scholarships for General categories & Others
125 scholarships for Traditional Artist Families
100 scholarships for Tribal Culture /ST 20 scholarships for Differently Abled
(Divyang)
30 scholarships for Creative Writing/Literary Arts

The value of scholarship is ` 3600/- (` Three Thousand Six Hundred) per year and actual tuition fee paid for the specialized training is also reimbursed up to a ceiling of ` 9000/- (` Nine Thousand) per year. Only those children whose date of birth is in between 01.07.2006 and 30.06.2010 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply for the award of scholarships for the year 2020-21. The application and other details may be downloaded from the CCRT website –www.ccrtindia.gov.in or collected free of cost personally/by post from any one of the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training centres.

Students applying for Painting must attach three (03) specimens of their latest work (either original or photograph) and those in Crafts, Sculpture etc. should attach three photographs of latest work, duly certified by their Guru/teacher that these specimens enclosed are made by the candidate and not aided by the Guru/Teacher, alongwith the Bio-data of the Guru/teacher.
Gurus/Parents are requested to ensure that their wards possess certain level of proficiency in the field while applying. Only three (03) students of a Guru/Institution will be considered for award of scholarship at a time keeping in view the large number of applications received and limited number of scholarships available in each field. If more than one Guru/teacher is working in the same Institution, then also only three (03) applications of that Institution will be considered for award of scholarship. Only those applicants, whose names are recommended by Central Selection Committee, will be informed about the date, timings and venue of the interview/test by post only, which may be held during the months of May-July, 2017 at Regional Level. 
The candidate must apply only in one subject/field in which he/she is confident because only one scholarship could be availed under the scheme. All applications of those, who apply in more than one subject/field would be rejected straight away.
Students in folk, traditional and indigenous art forms should mention the exact name of the art form and also the State/UT, where it is practiced. Students in traditional art forms, crafts traditions facing extinction and belonging to families practicing traditional performing & visual arts are given preference. They have to enclose a brief write-up to justify their claim for consideration in this category, otherwise their candidature will be considered in general category.
Incomplete applications and those without relevant information and documents/specimens/ photographs regarding training will not be considered. Those who are already receiving the scholarship from CCRT or any other Institution should not apply again either for new scholarship or for extension. A scholarship holder shall not receive any other scholarship/stipend in case he/ she is selected for CTSS Scheme, without the prior approval of the CCRT.

Last date for submission of complete and duly filled application form in the CCRT, New Delhi is 31 January 2019.

ISRO National Science Day 2019 Science Quiz, Spot Painting Competition

To commemorate and honor this event always in the future, 28th of February was asked to the then Government of India to designate as a National Science Day in India by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) in the year 1986. Every year NCSTC announces a new theme to celebrate.

In the spirit of this day, ISRO Satellite Center (ISAC) conducts various science related activities with school students. ISAC is organiging various competitions with the objective to create enthusiasm among school students and to inculcate scientific temper among the students.

EVINCE: Drawing and Painting Competition for School Students

Mimaansaa Art Studio is organising a drawing and painting competition for school students.
 Students form any City and State can participate in EVINCE Competition SURYAM Child Art Exhibition
RULES
The Competition is open to 1st to 12th grade/standard students.
Entry can be submitted by school / class / single student.
Each entry should be certified by the parent / guardian / teacher as the original, unaided work of the competitor done during the current year. Entries should be an individual efforts and not a combined work and “Not Copy Work “.
Every painting should carry the entry form and Xerox copy of school id card and passport size photo, and registration number at back of the painting.
No entry will be returned. The copyright of all entries will rest with Mosmi Shah.
All entries ( Art Work ) submitted will be property of Evince Competition organizer who hold the right to take the decision on further use of painting without taking permission from the participant.
If entries are sent by courier, proof of submission does not necessarily mean proof of receipt by Evince.
Organizer is not responsible for any damage or loss during transportation.

Logo Design and Tagline for National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE)

NCFE is now a Section 8 (Not for Profit) Company, incorporated on September 5, 2018. However, since 2013-14, it was being incubated at National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) to implement the National Strategy for Financial Education (NSFE) under the aegis of the Technical Group on Financial Inclusion and Financial Literacy (TGFIFL) of the sub-committee of the FSDC (Financial Stability and Development Council).

Tagline:

Should use a maximum of 6 words, either in Hindi or English, and should represent the ambition of NCFE.

Logo Design:

NCFE is looking to design a new logo for NCFE. This will be used in thei website, social media campaigns, print materials, and office stationeries including business diary, letterhead, envelope, pen, etc. The brief is as follows:

Typography, image or combination of both
Maximum of 2 solid colors, no gradients
Should be clean, simple, attractive, on-trend and youthful
Should represent desire to aim high, prosperity, knowledge, and going digital
Should appeal to the eye
Should work as a stand-alone symbol

Technical Parameters:

Participants should send the logo in JPEG or PNG or PDF format only.
Graphical construction of the design in exact proportions in a bigger size, along with final design, theme synopsis and concept is required to be submitted.
The minimum and maximum frame size of the logo for usage may vary from 1 cms X 1 cms to 60 X 60 cms. (Note: The logo need not be square. We are not specifying any geometrical shape.)
The logo should be in high resolution with minimum 300 DPI.
The logo should be designed on a digital platform.
The logo should be usable on the website/social media such as Twitter/Facebook and on printed material such as black and white press releases, stationery and signage.
Participants should not imprint or watermark logo design.
Every entry must be accompanied by a brief explanation (in maximum of 200 words) of the design and how it best symbolizes the vision and mission of NCFE. This write-up too should be uploaded, preferably in PDF format.
Note: Participants to keep the editable/ open file format also ready – this shall be required to be submitted later for the winning entry. During the course of evaluation, contest organizers may ask participants to resubmit their entry in different size(s)/ format(s) etc

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

• The submission should not exceed 10 sheets (A3 sheets)
• All the sheets for a single entry must be compiled into a single PDF not exceeding 10 Mb.
• Sheets must be used in landscape orientation.
• The word limit for the concept note is 200-250.
• Sheets must include the unique registration number at the top right corner.
• The sheets must not contain any personal details of the participant or else the participant will be disqualified.
• The sheets must contain design brief – its solution and key design features. Key features of the concept should include explanatory drawings with views and detailing where applicable.
• All entries must be sent in the digital format. Hard copies of entries will not be accepted or considered.
• Do not include any institutional graphics or logos.
• No changes can be made after the submission of the concept.

Criteria:-
Every team must consist of 4 members with each member representing their team in different events. All the event will be conducted simultaneously. Only one member can participate in a particular event. Each team will be scored on the basis of individual performances of participants. MyGov.in Logo Design Contest for National Biodiversity Authority

National Biodiversity Authority (NBA), a statutory body under Ministry of Environment Forest &Climate Change was established by the Central Government in 2003 to implement the provisions of the Biological Diversity Act, 2002. Its headquarters is situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. As a Statutory Body, NBA performs facilitative, regulatory and advisory functions for the Government of India on issues of conservation, sustainable use of biological resources and fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising out of the use of biological resources. NBA regulates activities like research, commercial utilization, bio-survey and bio-utilization of biological resources and/or associated knowledge occurring in India. It also grants approval for persons seeking Intellectual property rights for inventions based on Indian biological resources or associated knowledge. Thus, companies, institutions and individuals that access biological resources and/or associated knowledge for developing products and obtaining patents shall seek NBA approval before undertaking such activities. At the time of granting approval, NBA would insist that a certain percentage of the profit that the company or individual reaps shall be shared with NBA. The benefits shared in such a manner would be used for conservation and promotion of biodiversity, incentivising communities involved in conservation of the resource and socio economic development of areas from where the resource was accessed. NBA is now planning to develop a logo/ mark which the companies or individuals can affix on their product for which they have obtained approval from NBA. Participants are required to conceptualize and design a mark/logo such that-

1. The mark be distinctive and may convey the three objectives of the Biological Diversity Act, 2002, namely – conservation of biological diversity, sustainable use of its components and fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising out of its utilization.
2. The mark shall dignify the concept of ‘Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS)’ which denotes the equitable sharing of benefits by the users (Companies/Institutions/Industry) to the providers (Communities/Farmers/Traditional Knowledge Holders) of biological resources.
3. The mark can be used by companies to advertise that their product is based on a biological resource and/ or associated knowledge from India.
4. The mark will be certifying that the particular product on which it is affixed is complying with ‘Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS)’ requirements under Indian law.
5. Consumers can choose products with this mark and can be assured that the product was manufactured using biological resources and/or associated knowledge from India and that it has met the ABS requirements under Indian law.

The Designer of the finally selected Logo will get a prize of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only) and would be required to give copyright of the design to National Biodiversity Authority. (The prize money will be payable after deduction of TDS).

NASA Ames Space Settlement Contest 2019

This annual contest, co-sponsored by NASA Ames and the National Space Society (NSS) is for all students up to 12th grade (18 years old) from anywhere in the world. Individuals, small teams of two to five, and large teams of six or more are judged separately. Entries are also grouped by age/grade of the oldest contestant for judging. The age groups are 7th and under, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th. The grand prize is awarded to the best entry regardless of contestant age. Students develop space settlement designs and related materials. These are sent to NASA Ames for judgement. Submissions must be received by March 1.
The 2019 contest will be conducted digitally. No more paper entries. Click here to register, enter your project data, and submit your entry. Once you submit, you can resubmit at any time before the contest deadline.

The National Space Society (NSS) invites all 2019 contest participants to attend the NSS 38th annual International Space Development Conference (ISDC) in Arlington, VA June 6-9. Every year, hundreds of contestants attend, along with their parents, teachers, siblings and friends. Special activities for contestants are planned, including:
The highest ranking winners attending will be invited to give oral presentations as time is available.
To the extent space is available, all contestants who attend will be invited to display a poster of their work.
Special sessions are arranged for contestants, teachers, parents, etc.
The highest ranking attending entry will receive the Herman Rubin Award of $5,000 and give a plenary talk at one of the conference's signature events.
These activities are not yet finalized and may change. Nonetheless, this is a tremendous opportunity to present your work, meet some of the most important people in space development as well as your fellow contestants, and have a great time.

Rules
Submissions must relate to free space settlements. Settlements may not be on a planet or moon, although support activities such as mining may be. Settlements must be permanent homes, not temporary work camps. Submissions may focus on one or a few aspects of space settlement and supporting systems, including mines, activities leading up to settlement (such as space hotels), economic and social issues, etc.
Designs, original research, essays, stories, models, artwork or any other orbital space settlement related materials may be submitted.
Submissions should not be longer than 50 pages unless it is essential to explain the work. The project must consist of 1-10 pdf or jpg files (usually just one). Each may be no larger than 24 MB.
Submissions will be made electronically.
The submission must be the student's own work. Plagiarism is forbidden. No part of an entry may copied with one exception: You may quote short passages, but only if the material is surrounded in double quotes (") and the source indicated. For example: "This material copied from somewhere," My Favorite Space Book. Quoted materials should rarely be more than a few lines, and never longer than a few paragraphs. Quoting long passages is forbidden. Entries caught plagiarizing, even one part of a large entry, will be disqualified and disposed of.
Instructors, mentors or parents may assist the student by presenting relevant resources, discussing core concepts and suggesting minor edits, but the work itself must be entirely student produced.

Terms and Conditions to participate in “Republic Day 2018- Stamp Design Competition”

1. Entries are invited for ‘Republic Day 2017 - Stamp Design Competition’. The theme of the competition is ‘Ahimsa Parmo Dharma’. The participants are to make an original design on this subject (should not be copy of picture painted by someone else).
2. Any citizen of India can participate in this contest. The design could be in ink, water colour, oil colour or any other medium (Computer printed/ printout will not be allowed). The design submitted should be such that can be depicted on the stamps in a visually appealing manner so as to be of interest to philatelic collectors.
3. Participants are free to use drawing paper, art paper or any other type of white paper of A4 size.
4. The following particulars should be written legibly on the reverse of the design:
1. Name of the participant*
2. Age*
3. Gender
4. Nationality*
5. Full and complete residential address with Pin Code*
6. Phone/Mobile Number*
7. E-mail ID(if Available)
* The fields are mandatory.
5. An undertaking stating that ‘The artwork submitted is original and no copyright issues are involved’ should be sent along with the entry. In case of any legal dispute related to copyright issue, Department of Posts will not be liable for the same.
6. The design should be sent through “Speed Post” only, in A4 size envelope. The participants should mention “Republic Day 2018 - Stamp Design Competition” on the envelope in which the drawing is sent.
7. The prize winning designs will be considered for use on stamps and other philatelic material. The prize money will be as follows

Indian Engineering Olympiad (IEO)

Indian Engineering Olympiad (IEO), organized by Thinkcell Learning Solutions Pvt Ltd, is a pan-India exam that offers a real test of engineering aptitude for the engineering students in their respective fields on a national platform. The previous three edition of IEO were a grand success with over 3,50,000 students registering for the exam from the 2nd, 3rd & 4th year of engineering across various streams. Out of the students who took the exam at 50+ centers across India, the TOP 15 winners were awarded Medals, Certificates of Excellence & Financial Scholarships. Additionally, the TOP 1500 students were awarded Certificates of Merit as appreciation of their performance. Also, the TOP 15 colleges were given Best College awards and colleges which actively participated in organizing and conducting the exam were given special appreciation awards.

IEO 2019
IE0 2019 will focus on more student engagement and work to nourish real engineering talent. IEO 2019 will be a 2 stage exam where the first Stage will be conducted online and test the engineering & general aptitude of the students and the second stage will be a paper based test conducted at our designated centers and will test students technical knowledge in their respective streams.
Over 4,00,000 students, including several from the best of the engineering colleges across the country are expected to register for the Fourth edition of the exam this year to pit their skills against each other.
IEO 2019 will be conducted for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th year of engineering in EC, EE, IN, ME, CE, CS/IT, & IN streams

Eligibility Criteria
Students currently studying in 1st, 2nd , 3rd & 4th year engineering only are eligible for appearing in the Olympiad exam
Students who have already graduated are NOT eligible for the exam

Exam format
IEO 2019 will be conducted in 3 rounds
Round 1 will be an Online Computer based test that can be taken from anywhere across India.
Round 2 will be a paper based tests to be taken at our designated centers
Round 3 will an interview round with a panel of experts
Note- There will be elimination after each round and only select students will qualify for the next round.

Syllabus
Round 1 Will be a common paper testing your engineering aptitude and general aptitude
Round 2 Branch wise paper based exam to tests your Technical knowledge and Problem solving skills. Detailed syllabus will be uploaded shortly on the organiser's website
