The Forests and Wildlife Department is gearing up to organise various programmes to mark the National Wildlife Week that will be observed across the country from October 2 to 8. The State-level launch of the celebrations will be held at the Shendurney Wildlife Sanctuary in Kollam on October 2.
In Thiruvananthapuram, the Department will organise district-level competitions for students of various classes at the Social Forestry Complex at PTP Nagar on October 2 and 3. Pencil drawing and water-colour painting competitions on the theme of nature and wildlife will be conducted for lower primary and upper primary students.
Quiz, essay writing, oration, pencil drawing and water-colour painting contests will be held for students of government-approved high schools and colleges. Students of professional colleges are also permitted to participate in the programmes.
The competitions will be organised in Malayalam.
