To raise awareness over the current environmental situation, Segunda llamada extends an
invitation to participate in its 5th international poster competition.
Segunda llamada is a non-profit project; graphic design to raise social and environmental awareness.

ELIGIBILITY
Participation is open to professionals and students worldwide.

UPLOAD
Participants can submit a maximum of 3 posters (single or conforming series).
Posters can be uploaded from February 1, 2018 on the following link: www.segundallamada.com/upload
Deadline for submitting entries is March 20th, 2018 at 23:59 Mexico city time CDT (GMT – 6hrs).

ENTRY SPECIFICATIONS
To participate in the competition, entries must include:
A) POSTER
Size: 60x90cm (3545 x 5313 pixels – resolution 150ppi)
Vertical (portrait) format. Black and white
Format: JPG. Color mode: Grayscale
Maximum size 5MB
Note: RGB/CMYK modes, other sizes or formats woill not be accepted.

B) BRIEF DESCRIPTION
100 characters maximum.

C) CONTACT DETAILS
Name, age, country, address, email and phone number.

D) ACTION PROPOSAL
A proposal of action which the participant commits to undertake in their daily life as a response to climate change.

E) INFORMATION SOURCE
If the posters contain information or facts, a bibliography or links to the sources need to be provided.
If an entry does not consist of all parts, it will not be considered for the competition

Works will be assessed according to the following criteria:
• Concept originality
• Graphic quality
• Message conveyance
• Accuracy of facts and information

Google has announced the third edition of its Web Ranger competition which promotes safe use of internet among teenagers. It is open for children within the age group of 10 to 17 years and there are three categories to participate in. They can run a campaign individually or as a team of three, work individually on a project based on a single idea or design a poster which captures the theme of internet safety.

The Web Rangers contest is a platform for students to spread the message of internet safety and digital citizenship beyond close friends and family. It’s time to show the world your superpowers, it’s time for Web Rangers 2017!

Eligibility
The Contest is open to Indian resident students aged between and including 10 and 17 of
any school in India

How to Participate
There are different formats to pick from - choose the category that interests you and and put your creativity and skills to test. The best entries in each format stands to win awesome Chromebooks.

Campaign: Why reach a few hundred when you can reach thousands, or maybe millions? Run your own internet safety campaign, either individually or as a team of three. It could be one large initiative or a collection of multiple projects like a social media campaign, a video series, awareness drives or all of them - there is no restriction on the format or the number of initiatives.

Project: If you prefer to work individually and have that one amazing idea, then this is for you. The format is completely open - create a video, website, app or a game - but remember, it should empower users to stay safe on the Internet and learn what it takes to be a good digital citizen

Poster: Put your creative hat on - design a poster that captures the theme of Internet safety and send it across to Google. It’s as simple as that.

Google Contests for Students

The Forests and Wildlife Department is gearing up to organise various programmes to mark the National Wildlife Week that will be observed across the country from October 2 to 8. The State-level launch of the celebrations will be held at the Shendurney Wildlife Sanctuary in Kollam on October 2.

In Thiruvananthapuram, the Department will organise district-level competitions for students of various classes at the Social Forestry Complex at PTP Nagar on October 2 and 3. Pencil drawing and water-colour painting competitions on the theme of nature and wildlife will be conducted for lower primary and upper primary students.

Quiz, essay writing, oration, pencil drawing and water-colour painting contests will be held for students of government-approved high schools and colleges. Students of professional colleges are also permitted to participate in the programmes.

The competitions will be organised in Malayalam.
