Coin a New Name Contest for IRCTC

A clarion call to all our countrymen! Participate in the IRCTC “COIN A NEW NAME” Contest. The best entry attracts a cash prize of ₹ 1,00,000 /- (INR ONE LAKH). Please ensure you read the Terms and Conditions before submitting your entry.
IRCTC is admirably positioned as a “close embrace” PSU of Ministry of Railways, in that, it deals with Indian Railways’ multitude of passengers who avail rail and allied passenger services, including catering & hospitality, rail and non-rail based tourism and rail ticketing on the internet. With 18 years of a successful business journey behind us, to further improve the brand recall among our supportive customers, IRCTC places a fervent call to citizens of India to participate in the proposed “COIN A NEW NAME” contest.

Cities for our Future Challenge

The Cities for our Future Challenge is a global competition run by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in partnership with the UKNC for UNESCO and The Association of Commonwealth Universities.
Are you an imaginative, problem solving young professional, start up or student involved in surveying, urban design, architecture, or engineering? Then share your transformative ideas for projects and policies that solve some of the defining issues of our time: Rapid Urbanisation, Climate Change and Resource Scarcity.

The winner will receive a £50,000 prize and mentoring with industry experts to bring their idea to life.

Last date: 31 May 2018

Eligibility
The competition is open to all but RICS is particularly interested in receiving entries from students and young people with an interest in the built environment
There is no minimum or maximum number of members each team can have.

How to Participate
The competition asks entrants to propose solutions to specific issues affecting 24 global cities.  Each of these issues has been identified by built environment professionals working in the specific city or region.   Cities selected include: Mumbai, Lagos, Beijing and Manchester. 

Mumbai: How can coastal cities like Mumbai better protect their populations from the increased threat of flooding?

Lagos: How can cities such as Lagos build more affordable housing to keep pace with rapidly expanding populations?

Beijing: Cities like Beijing have already taken steps to improve air quality.  What more can they do to ensure cleaner air as they expand?

Manchester: How can growing cities like Manchester use data and technology to improve quality of life and work for their citizens?
