Positively Penned Contest by The Optimist Citizen

Positively Penned Contest is a nationwide photo story competition to share,  recognize and celebrate small day to day positive actions of ordinary people around us. The competition would inspire the youth in both creation and consumption of positive content on social media. The aim of this contest is to recognise, acknowledge and celebrate the stories of hidden gems, the (extra) ordinary citizens, and the real life heroes amongst us who are engaging (or have engaged) in small positive actions in their daily lives and who are impacting the society positively with their simple acts of kindness.

Who can participate?

Any student pursuing any form of graduation who has a good story around them and wants to celebrate, thus becoming a part of a huge positive change.

The PRIZES & PERKS include:

How to Participate
Submit a photo story about the real life heroes among us who are engaging in small positive actions in their daily lives and who are impacting the society positively with their simple act of kindness.
A Photo Story is a story in about 200-250 words accompanied by a Photograph of the subject about which the story is narrated. The Subject could be a person/event/life-incidence/action or anything alike on which the participant wishes to write.
Last Date: 30 September 2017

Shortlisted participants will be announced on 5 October
Last date for submission for final round: 10 October
Announcement of Final Winner: 16 October

RobinAge Bright Sparks Awards 2016-17

The RobinAge Bright Sparks Awards is a national initiative that builds on RobinAge's position as the Voice of Children to encourage and support creativity in children.

The competition invites students from class 1 to 10 to send in their writing, poetry and artwork. The top three entries of each category and age group as well as three outstanding schools - as selected by a judging panel of premiere children's authors and artists - will win accolades, recognition and prizes. What's more, all entries submitted online will get an e-certificate of participation.

Artwork
Poetry
Prose (news reports or stories of up to 500 words)
Age Groups:
Group A: Class 1 and 2
Group B: Class 3 to 5
Group C: Class 6 to 8
Group D: Class 9 and 10

To ensure children use their imagination, the competition is not restricted to themes or topics. Instead, children can choose any subject and express themselves freely.

Entries MUST be submitted along with your name, class, school, residential address, contact number and e-mail address. If you are participating in the Art category, we suggest you send us your artwork by post.

Contest Rules for RBSA 2016-17:

  • RobinAge does not charge a participation fee for the RobinAge Bright Sparks Awards.
  • Only entries in English will be considered.
  • Please do not submit entries in the form of books or models.
  • Entries should be submitted only once, either online or in hard copy.
  • Entries that do not mention the student’s name, class, school, residential address, contact number and e-mail address will be disqualified.
  • Content sent to RobinAge is RobinAge property and can be reproduced at RobinAge’s discretion.
  • Children must obtain the permission of their parent/guardian in order to enter the contest.
  • Prizes will be awarded to three top schools for quality and quantity of entries received and to the top three entries in each contest category for each age group. A total of 39 prizes will be awarded.
  • The decision of the judges will be final. RobinAge will not entertain any questions regarding the judging process.
  • Open to citizens of India only.
  • Last date for entries: February 28, 2017. Winners will be announced in RobinAge’s 9th Anniversary Edition, dated April 13, 2017.

Your Story, Your Words Contest (for age 18 and above)

"Your Story, Your Words" contest is a call for the most vivid stories of your life! Stories which are just a casual moment of your life, but stay with you for a lifetime.

IndiaBnb has conceptualised this story contest to encourage our patrons to share the experiences of their life and enjoy a stay in the mesmerizing beauty of Himachal. It can be your story, from your life experiences- a life changing incident, a usual tale, a mystery, a joy, a horror etc.

The contest will be judged by the team from Shimla Hills. The results will be announced in the first week of August 2015. Best story will be selected from the entries and the writer will be awarded a stay of 2 Nights/ 3 Days in Himachal Pradesh."

Last Date: 31st July 2015


Eligibility: The Contest is open to all writers of the age 18 and above. Only one entry per person is allowed.

Guidelines
Entries must be received by Indian Time 6.00 p.m. July 31, 2015. Submissions should be through the Submissions Manager tool on Link: http://www.indiabnb.com/story-contest/. There is no entry fee for submission.

Stories must be written in English, original and unpublished up to the time the winners are declared on or about August 15, 2015.

Stories must be double-spaced, in Times New Roman font size 10 and not less than 500 words to 1000 words.

The name of the story and total word count must be printed on the front page of the story.

All submissions are final. No changes or substitutions to a story are allowed once your entry is received.

Queries before submission are welcome but must relate to the contest rules or if there are difficulties in submission. You can make queries to – info@indiabnb.com.

By entering the contest, entrants agree to allow "Shimla Hills" to publish their stories, names and biographical information in all media, including but not limited to newspapers and online websites, without any compensation, save the prizes as detailed under 'contest rewards' to the notified winners. However, the above clause shall be null and void if the entry does not make it to the long list after first round of judging, and all rights will revert to the authors.

Do not send photographs with entries. Winners will be conacted about a photograph at a later date and must agree to publication of his/her photograph.

In connection with your submission, you affirm, represent and/or warrant that (i) you own or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents and permissions to use and authorize Sponsors to use all copyright, trademark or other proprietary rights in and to your submission to enable inclusion and use of the submission in the manner contemplated by these Contest rules.

Sponsor reserves the right to reject and disqualify any submissions that could be offensive or inappropriate or that do not meet the terms and conditions of these rules.
