Govt. Model Engineering College, Kochi has announced Innovations for a Better Tomorrow Junior, better known as IBeTo Jr., an event being held as part of the annual national level techno-managerial festival of the College, Excel. Excel 2015 is scheduled to be held during September 17,18,19.

IBETO Jr., was first launched by the organizers of Excel in 2013. This year the event is in its third edition. IBETO Jr. aims to encourage the imaginative science lovers and budding engineers among school students and to help them pursue their ideas to completion.

How to Participate?
Students from classes 8 to 12 can register for the event by submitting their ideas online on ibeto.excelmec.org on or before the 15th of July 2015.

Each school can send maximum 5 entries.
 A total of 60 student projects from the original pool will then be selected for the finals and showcased in a grand exhibition during Excel with the best projects getting a grand prize of total Rs. 25,000. With students, and teachers from more than two thousand colleges and schools, dignitaries from the industry and heads of various companies attending the event, the exposure that the students, and their ideas receive will be immense.

What to do?

Step 1: Qualifier
As a group, interview your English teacher. Remember to ask about why she loves teaching English

Step 2: Challenger
As a classroom, design a complete Storyboard page, similar to this page. Pick a good theme. Get creative!

Step 3: Coach Speak
Ask your English teacher to write a 250 words essay about memorable incidents from the classroom.

Step 4: Finale
Create a illustrated children's book of length between 10-20 pages. The best story gets the maximum  points.

Write Classroom of the year in the subject line and include the following details
a. Your school name and address
b. your class and section
c. Your English teacher's name and phone number

You will get registration confirmation from The Hindu and then you can send all the entries to the address provided by them.

Open to Classes 5 to 9; Minimum 7 in a team
