Ideate for India – creative solutions using technology’ - National Challenge

Ideate for India – creative solutions using technology, is a National level challenge conceptualised by National e-Governance Division, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India and Intel India for all students studying in classes 6 to 12 pan India.

The aim of this challenge is to give the young students of our country a platform and an opportunity to become solution creators for the problems they see around them and their communities

Eligibility
All school students from classes 6 – 12 across India.

Phases
The challenge will have three phases

PHASE I
Students access online learning content
Submit their Idea through a 90 seconds video sharing proposed solution in any of the 11 core theme areas
Receive an online participation certificate for viewing featured learning content and appreciation certificate for idea submission
An external panel of judges and mentors evaluate the submitted ideas
10 students per State/ UT get selected
Total 360 students get invited for phase II
PHASE II
5 residential boot camps will be organised across North, South, East, West and North- East India
Each camp will be of 4 days with face to face judging interviews
Mentoring will be provided post boot camp to ensure the ideas mature as prototypes
50 students will get selected and invited to a national event for showcasing the prototypes implemented in communities
PHASE III
Top 50 students attend and present prototypes at the national showcasing event and will be declared as Tech Creation Champions

How to Participate?
To register please refer to following steps-

Visit the website - https://negd.gov.in/ | https://www.digitalindia.gov.in/
Look for the banner – ‘Ideate for India – creative solutions using technology’ on the Home Page
Click on the banner. It will lead you to the Challenge Home Page.
Now click on the tab - REGISTER, on the top right side of the Home Page.
You will be redirected to Registration Page. Fill in the form with details.
Once all details have been filled, recheck them and then click on the Register button at the end of the form.
A verification mail will be sent to the email address mentioned by you in the registration form once you register
Open your registered email account to verify your account. If you do not see the verification mail in the inbox, please check in your spam messages inbox
The verification mail has a link ‘Verify your mail’. Once you click on this link, you will be automatically redirected to the challenge page. Now you have successfully registered as a participant for the National Challenge.

As soon as the process is completed, a welcome mail will be sent to the verified email address.

How to Submit Idea
After you create a 90 second video which showcases your idea for tech creation, please save it on your desktop/ computer and/or mobile phone
Upload the video on YouTube with your official account. To know how to upload a video on YouTube, please click here
Now visit the challenge website – https://negd.gov.in/ | https://www.digitalindia.gov.in/ - log in with your registered email address and password and click on “Submit your idea” button on right side of the Homepage.
You will be redirected to ‘Submit your Idea’ Page.
Fill in the details as asked along with the YouTube URL of your video. Once you finish filling in all the details in the form please click on ‘Submit’ button.
If you would like to think more, make changes in your idea video and submit later - you can save it for now using “Save as Draft” button and come back again and submit it later.
Video cannot be edited or resubmitted once you click on the submit button

You can submit multiple ideas by creating different 90 seconds explainer videos for each of the ideas.

Perfect Home – Business Plan Competition for College Students

Mathrbhumi Daily in association with Malabar Cements is organising Intercollegiate Rebuilding Kerala Ideation Competition.
How build safe homes in Kerala is the theme of the contest.
Those who wish to participate are required to send their ideas.

Terms & Conditions:


  • All the participating team to submit a brief ( Max 500 words) of their plan before October 10th
  • All students competing in this competition must be pre-registered.
  • The participant should be below age
  • The participant can register individual or participate as a team of maximum 3.
  • All the participants should bring their college ID card for the competition.
  • At any point in the competition, if it is found that the student does not belong to a particular college (regular or distant) will be eliminated right away.
  • The judge's decision will be considered final .

V-GUARD THE BIG IDEA CONTEST

V-Guard’s ‘Big Idea Business Plan Contest-2018’, invites students from B-schools and Engineering Colleges across India to propose a well thought through, creative and comprehensive business plan for V-Guard’s future growth and consolidation.

Big Idea Contest - The Challenge

The theme for this year’s The Big Idea contest is “Bring home a better tomorrow”.

The submissions should cover all the aspects of a typical business plan. The aspects should include

Feasibility Study of the Business Idea through Consumer Research
Customer Value Analysis
Financial Feasibility and Projections

Market Penetration and Market Development Plan

The contest comprises of different phases. 
The teams have to register online before 18th September 2017. 
An online brief will be sent to the registered teams. 
The teams would then have to submit a short executive summary of their business plan for V-Guard on or before 26th September 2017. 
The top 20 teams shortlisted will be intimated by 13th October and will then advance to the contest’s finals. 
The Top 20 teams should then submit their final written report of the plan on or before 23rd October 2017. 
This will be followed by an oral presentation before the Top Management of V- Guard. 
The performance of the teams would be evaluated based on the written report and the oral presentation. 

Prizes
The first prize of Rs.1,00,000 & Summer Internship Program with stipend for 1st year participants, second prize of Rs.50,000, third prize of Rs.25,000 and two special jury awards of Rs.10,000 each await the winners. The Business Plan Contest Finals will be held on 3rd and 4th November 2017.

Rules & Regulations
RULES REGARDING EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The executive summary should preferably be typed (double space) on bond paper, (size 11”8”), leaving 3 cms margin and should not be more than 2000 words. Charts, diagrams, etc. may be included to support any research work or data collection.

GENERAL RULES
  • The number of members in a team should not exceed 3.
  • The participants must produce ID cards on request.
  • Registration Fees: Rs 1000/- per team from a college.
  • Participation will be confirmed subject to receipt of participation fee. The fee paid is non-refundable.
  • The decisions of the judges will be final and binding on the participating teams.
  • Participating teams are requested to visit the website (www.vguard.in/contest) for any updates about the competition.
  • Organizers have the right to make changes in the event if necessary

ABHIPRERNA, Innovation Challenge

This is a call to all young enthusiasts to team up & generate ideas which can improve the motivation of school-teachers.

It is well known that the role of teachers is most important in realizing the goal of imparting quality education. And there is an immediate need to pay attention to the fact that a mere graduate degree may be a necessary but not a sufficient condition to become a school teacher. There is a need to expedite the process of improving teacher motivation in schools so that a child's education is not affected.

ABHIPRERANA is a collective initiative to improve teachers’ motivation in Government Schools. This challenge invites young student ideators and thinkers to come up with innovative ideas and proposals to improve the motivation of our school-teachers and in turn, improve the quality of education imparted.

ELIGIBILITY

An individual or a team of up to 3 students, from the same college or different colleges (UG/PG/Diploma Courses/Fellowships, enrolled in any degree/non-degree course in a college/university) can participate in the challenge.

The prize value for the winning hacks will remain the same, regardless of team size.

AWARDS

1ST PRIZE: INR 10,000

2ND PRIZE: INR 7,000

3RD PRIZE: INR 5,000

CHALLENGE ROUNDS

Round 1: The online submission window shall remain open till 26th of February, 2018 till when the participants can submit their proposed ideas/solutions.

Round 2: All submissions shall be sent to our esteemed jury who would then decide the winning ideas on the basis of

(i) Novelty: How relevant and innovative was the solution?

(ii) Feasibility: Was there potential for the solution to be implemented in the face of real-world challenges?

(iii) Scalability & Sustainability: Is the solution long-lasting, and could it scale, possibly through relevant application of technology?

(iv) Completeness: Has the ideator thought about the prerequisites, challenges and possible ways to evade them, in order to deploy their ideas successfully in schools?

SGRF Spark Award Competition

As part of the 30Kerala Science Congress  a new award, SGRF SPARK Award for the best innovative idea for “Transforming Kerala through Science & Technology Interventions” has been announced. This award is instituted by SciGenom Research Foundation (SGRF), a not-for-profit organization, promoting Science through Research and Education along with Kerala State Council for Science Technology & Environment (KSCSTE).

Eligibility


Post Graduate Science students from Kerala are eligible to contest for this award.


How to Apply:
In order to apply for the award, the candidates must submit the Official Entry Form along with nominations and their creative idea for Transforming the State of Kerala through Science & Technology Interventions in the prescribed format available in the website.

Guidelines: 
  • Write an original idea of about 1000 words created exclusively for The SGRF SPARK Award.
  •  The idea must address the topic Transforming the State of Kerala through Science & Technology Interventions. 
  • The chosen idea must be specified on the Official Entry Form along with nominations from the Principal in the case of Colleges and Head of the Department in case of University Departments and should be submited along with the entries. 
  • Write only about science-based ideas. 
  • No matter how well-written and researched, ideas submitted on non-science topics will be disqualified. Your ideas must be hand written in English. 
  • Do NOT put your name, college name or any other personal information in the body of your idea. 
  • Enter your name and other personal information only in the designated fields in the Entry Form. 
  • Title of your idea must appear in the Entry Form box indicated as “Title of Idea” and in the space provided for it in the idea box. 
  • Do not use foot notes or end notes. 
  • Your idea must include a bibliography of source material to be written at the end of your text in the Official Entry Form.
  • Plagiarism will not be tolerated. 
  • Ideas will be carefully reviewed by multiple judges and checked for plagiarism. Proof read your idea carefully. 
  • Your idea will be judged not only on the science and relevance to Kerala, but also on creativity, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  •  If you really wish to include illustrations, graphics, or diagrams you are free to do it, but sufficient explanations must be provided.

The entries shall be received from December 01, 2017, until December 31, 2017. 
Award will be announced on January 15, 2018 and the awards will be given away during the inaugural session of 30th Kerala Science Congress to be held at Govt. Brennan College, Thalassery, Kannur on 28th January 2018.

G-NEB (Glorifire National Entrepreneurship Bug) - India’s Most exciting IDEAS competition for school children

G-NEB stands for Glorifire National Entrepreneurship Bug. It is being organised by The Entrepreneurship School (TES) in association with Glorifire, one of the hottest idea sharing app for school children.

How to Submit
To submit your idea, DOWNLOAD the GLORIFIRE APP at Google Play.
Log on and Go to Events.

Selection Process
G-NEB is all about IIEE
ideas, innovation, energy and excitement.

After you’ve applied.
SHARE it with your friends.
GET as many LIKES.
Also, get RECOMMENDATIONS from your teachers, parents, well-wishers.

The unique engine, will give a “Crowd Score” based on LIKES and RECOMMENDATIONS.
The TES Expert panel will screen each idea and give an ‘Expert Score” based on “Idea Impact” and “Execution Potential”.

Glorifire app will compute the TOTAL SCORE to create the Leaderboard


Top 25 ideas from the Leaderboard shall be invited for finals held in New Delhi on 16h April 2017.
This shall include idea pitch, prototype demonstration and Q&A, as well as mentoring by TES experts.
After Stage 1, Top 10 teams shall be selected for Stage 2.
Top 3 teams of Stage 2 shall be selected as winners.

TES Glorifire co-branded Certificates to Top 25 Teams who qualify into Final Round
TES Glorifire co-branded Participation Certificate to all teams who apply in this ideas challenge
