OBJECTIVES OF ORGANISING THE NATIONAL YOUTH PARLIAMENT FESTIVAL

To hear the voice of youth between 18 and less than 25 years of age, who are allowed to vote but cannot stand as a candidate for election, through deliberations in Youth Parliaments at district level and above.
To encourage the youth to engage with public issues, understand the common man's point of view, form their opinions and express it in an articulate manner.
To develop and enhance decision making abilities.
To develop in them a respect and tolerance for the views of others.
To develop in them an understanding that respect for rules is essential for conducting any discussion systematically and effectively.
To obtain and document their opinions on Vision of New India in 2022.
To make available their views to policy makers and implementers to take it forward.

FORMAT
Youth Parliaments will be conducted at three levels:

District Youth Parliament (DYP) will be conducted at the district level. Preliminary rounds of screening will be conducted to select youth for participation in the DYP. The youth will be selected through two screening processes i.e. digital & walk-in (explained below).

State Youth Parliament (SYP): The youth selected by a Jury from the District Youth Parliament will participate at the State level in SYP.

National Youth Parliament (NYP): The youth selected by a Jury from the State Youth Parliament will participate at the National level in NYP.

TIMELINE
Preliminary rounds for screening for participation in the District Youth Parliament (DYP):

Digital Process: Registration of participants and uploading of contents through YouTube video on mygov portal (innovate.mygov.in/youth-parliament): 12th to  18th January, 2019.
Walkin Process: Screening at designated Institutions in the Districts: 17th to 19th January, 2019

District Youth Parliament (DYP) to be organised in specified districts:  24th to 28th January, 2019
State Youth Parliament (SYP): 05th to 07th February, 2019
National Youth Parliament (NYP): 23rd to 24th February, 2019

CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION
Youth, to participate in Youth Parliament must be above 18 and less than 25 years of age as on 30th June, 2018. The onus will be on the participant to furnish correct information in this regard. Furnishing of false information will lead to disqualification from participation in the Parliament at whatever stage.

LANGUAGE

The youth can participate in Hindi, English or the official language of the State Government concerned from which the youth is participating at level of screening for DYP; DYP & SYP.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITION

The three best speakers at the national level will be awarded Rs 2 lakhs, Rs 1.50 lakhs and Rs 1 lakh respectively alongwith a certificate of merit. Every participant will be given a certificate of participation (format will be provided by Ministry).
The 2 best speakers from each State Youth Parliament (SYP) will participate at the national level. A certificate of merit will be awarded to the best speakers from the State in the panel. Every participant will be given a certificate of participation.

• An abstract to be submitted at the time of the event

VIVATHA MEDAI CONTEST

• Participants should bring their own vegetables and carving equipments

SINGING CONTEST
Individual entries - two students per school

Sri Eshwar College of Engineering is organising 1st  District Level Basketball, Volleyball & Chess Tournament (for School boys and girls) for the Sri Eshwar Trophy.
Date: 26-27 October 2018

This promotion project is to give and opportunity for schools to provide their players invaluable tournament experience under ideal playing conditions.
The tournament will be conducted on a knockout basis. The deision of the Tournament Commistte on all points not covered above will be final.
The entry with the list of players in proper letter head signed by the Head of the Institution must reach the Secretary on or before 20 October 2018.

Applications are invited from interested Universities/Colleges for participating in the 15th National Youth Parliament Competition 2018-19 organised by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, latest by 31st May, 2017.

Universities/Colleges recognized by UGC/Government of India/State Government are eligible to participate in the 15th National Youth Parliament Competition, 2018-19 for Universiities/Colleges.

The date(s) and venue of the Orientation Course for conducting Youth Parliament Competition would be intimated in due course to the participants. The details of the competition are available in the official website i.e. “”mpa.gov.in/MPA/result.aspx”.
The participants sponsored by Universities/colleges would be re-imbursed actual TA/DA as per their entitlement or cheapest airfare in the economy class (shortest route) whichever is lower for attending the Orientation Course.
Participants who attend the Orientation Course will not be allowed to withdraw from the competition at any later stage.
The eligible Universities/Colleges who are willing to participate in the competition are required to submit the application along with four proformas.

The Competition would normally be held in two stages depending on the number of participating institutions – the first stage at the group level where the institutions will be divided into various groups and secondly at the National Level between the winners of the various groups.
