The Children Peace Image of the Year will be awarded the Alfred Fried Photography Award Medal and will receive € 1,000.
The Photographische Gesellschaft, (PHG), founded in Vienna in 1861, is the longest-standing photographic society in the German-speaking countries and the second-oldest in the world. It was founded on 22 March 1861 by Anton Georg Martin at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna.
With the Alfred Fried Photography Award the PHG and Edition Lammerhuber want to promote photographers from all over the world whose pictures capture human efforts towards a peaceful world.
The Alfred Fried Photography Award is presented annually on 21 September, the UN International Peace Day.
How to Take part?
You can submit your photos online until 27 May 2018. Your parents or your photo group leader may assist you. You decide how many photos to submit. You can submit individual photographs or a series of up to 20 images.

What does peace look like? This is a very special questions and everybody has their very own ideas about it. All the more so today, when we see so much of violence and unrest.
We say: Give your imagination free reign. Make your positive attitude visible in a photo. We want to see how you imagine peace. And the best pictures will be exhibited. Across the world.
