Wiki Loves Love (WLL) is an international photographic contest organized by Wikimedia community to document love testimonials in various cultures and regions of the world.

Concept
The basic aim of the competition is to collect photos of love testimonials through human cultural diversity – such as monuments, ceremonies, snapshot of tender gesture and miscellaneous objects used as symbol of love – to illustrate articles in the worldwide free encyclopedia Wikipedia and other Wikimedia Foundation projects. Like Wiki Loves Earth (WLE) and Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM), photos provided must match the theme, although WLL is not limited to any official list of protected areas, love can occur everywhere!

So the focus is not on sites, whether of regional or national importance but on the widest variety of love testimonials possible. This means that most users will be able to find several pertaining subjects close to them, whether heritage sites or daily life event.
The theme calls for photographs and videos files that document all manner of festivals, celebrations, ceremonies and rituals of love across the continents in different cultures and regions.

ABOUT THE CHALLENGE
On Earth, recycling technologies can utilize gravity to move waste when converting it to new materials or constituent molecules. In a microgravity environment, however, technology is the only way to transfer the waste for processing. The aim of this Challenge is to identify receptacle and feeder mechanisms suitable for a microgravity environment that can deliver mission waste for decomposition.

NASA has developed a high temperature reactor that can recycle astronaut waste into valuable substances (water, gases & solids). During housekeeping duties, the astronaut will place mission waste into the receptacle in preparation for recycling. The feeder mechanism will take the waste from the receptacle and deliver it to the hot reactor for decomposition.

For a mission lasting one year, a team of four astronauts would generate approximately 2,500 kilograms of waste. Astronaut logistical waste can contain a variety of products, including:

Fabrics (from discarded clothing)
Foam
Food packaging
Human waste
Hygienic wipes
Low- & High-density plastics
Nitrile gloves
Paper
Given the volume and variety of waste products, it is crucial that NASA identify mechanisms to facilitate mission recycling.

This annual contest, co-sponsored by NASA Ames and the National Space Society (NSS) is for all students up to 12th grade (18 years old) from anywhere in the world. Individuals, small teams of two to five, and large teams of six or more are judged separately. Entries are also grouped by age/grade of the oldest contestant for judging. The age groups are 7th and under, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th. The grand prize is awarded to the best entry regardless of contestant age. Students develop space settlement designs and related materials. These are sent to NASA Ames for judgement. Submissions must be received by March 1.

Every year, hundreds of contestants attend, along with their parents, teachers, siblings and friends. Special activities for contestants are planned, including:
The highest ranking winners attending will be invited to give oral presentations as time is available.
To the extent space is available, all contestants who attend will be invited to display a poster of their work.
Special sessions are arranged for contestants, teachers, parents, etc.

Rules
Submissions must relate to free space settlements. Settlements may not be on a planet or moon, although support activities such as mining may be. Settlements must be permanent homes, not temporary work camps. Submissions may focus on one or a few aspects of space settlement and supporting systems, including mines, activities leading up to settlement (such as space hotels), economic and social issues, etc.
Designs, original research, essays, stories, models, artwork or any other orbital space settlement related materials may be submitted.
Submissions should not be longer than 50 pages unless it is essential to explain the work. The project must consist of 1-10 pdf or jpg files (usually just one). Each may be no larger than 24 MB.
Submissions will be made electronically.
The submission must be the student's own work. Plagiarism is forbidden. No part of an entry may copied with one exception: You may quote short passages, but only if the material is surrounded in double quotes (") and the source indicated. For example: "This material copied from somewhere," My Favorite Space Book. Quoted materials should rarely be more than a few lines, and never longer than a few paragraphs. Quoting long passages is forbidden. Entries caught plagiarizing, even one part of a large entry, will be disqualified and disposed of.
Instructors, mentors or parents may assist the student by presenting relevant resources, discussing core concepts and suggesting minor edits, but the work itself must be entirely student produced.

The Kanagawa Biennial World Children’s Art Exhibition has been held every two years since 1981. Held in Kanagawa Prefecture adjacent to Japan’s capital of Tokyo, this event exhibits children’s art from all over the world, and is intended to use the power of painting to foster the dreams and creativity of today’s young children who will go on to become the leaders of tomorrow. The exhibition is also intended to further understanding of the world’s diverse cultures and differences in global lifestyles.

This year’s competition theme is ‘Habitats of the World’ – the challenge is to create an exciting group mini-exhibition/art display interpreting this theme!

How to Participate

*Each Group’s entry should fill a wall space 180cm x 180cm with a table 180cm x 60cm in front. Be as creative as you can, using anything from paint, sculpture or sewing to recycled art to create your own mini-exhibition! (See examples below.)

*Entry is FREE. Donations are welcome but will not affect judging. (Suggested donation £20).

*When you are ready to enter please complete entry form –  you will need to submit 200 words describing how you have interpreted the theme.

i. depict the Eligible Participant’s interpretation of the theme, “Where Will Your Spaceship Take You?” (the “Theme”);
ii. be an original work of art in any of the following media/formats: drawing, painting, mixed-media or digital;
iii. ideally be of an original artwork size of 18” x 24”, but required to be no smaller than 11” x 17” and no larger than 18”x 24”;
iv. be uploaded to the Web Site in high-resolution (300dpi) digital format using either of the file types: .jpg or .png;
v. have a minimum resolution of at least 2400 pixels x 2400 pixels;
vi. have a maximum size of no more than 10 Mb;
vii. not contain copyrighted material;
viii. not contain threatening, offensive, or abusive material;

8th World Biennial of Student Poster. competition is organised by the University of Novi Sad and the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.

Eligibility
Open to all undergraduate and graduate students of art colleges where the discipline of poster art is a part of the curriculum.

Free subject: posters made during the last two school years as a part of the curriculum.
Only students at academies and colleges of arts where the discipline of poster art is part of the curriculum have the right to participate at the competition. One can take part with three works at most.

HOW TO APPLY:
All received posters will become a part of a special Biennial's collection at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and can be used in didactic purposes. They will be presented at the Biennial's web site. By filling in the application form, the entrants accept the terms of the organizer of the Biennial exhibition.
The Selection Board is entitled to reject those works that are not in agreement with the undisputed world standards on human rights to identity, nation, religion, language and the like. The organizers of the Biennial have no authorities to transfer any rights to third party in the sense of using and reproduction of works from the Biennial. The entrants accept that their work can be used in non-commercial purposes as well as in the promotion of the Biennial.

HOW TO SUBMIT
Poster entries MUST be submitted via this website as digital files, using the online ENTRY FORM.
ENTRY GUIDELINES
All posters must be submitted digitally through the Web site.
Convert your Poster files to meet these condition:
JPG - quality 10, CMYK - 8 Bits/channel, 3900 pixels on the longer side
or
PDF - CMYK, 70 x 100 cm, 100 pixels/inch
In both cases, the file size must not exceed 12 MB
DO NOT SEND PRINTED COPIES. The WBESP will make print-outs for jury review, as well as exhibition prints of winning posters.

DEADLINE: All entries must be received by 16th November 2018. There will be no extensions.
There is no entry fee to the Biennial competition.
Each student can participate with three (3) posters.

AWARDS AND PRIZES
The 1st prize winner gets the right to organize a solo exhibition at the next Biennial with ten (10) posters an optional choice. The prizes and awards consist of: monetary prizes, plaques and certificates.

The ICSO is conducted in partnership with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, a statutory body under an Act of Parliament, under the administrative control of The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi.

Registration of Students: The ICSO is open to the students of classes 11 & 12. Prospectus containing the Registration forms are sent to all schools registered with SOF. Schools not registered may also request for prospectus by sending an e-mail at info@sofworld.org/ phone call. Schools must return the registration forms to SOF, duly filled in and complete in all respects by the due date.

The International Company Secretaries Olympiad:

The test is organized in the respective schools of the participants during school hours.

(i) The Olympiad is a written objective-type test of 60 minutes duration comprising 50 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class11 & class 12.

(ii) The question paper consists of five sections:

Section-1: Quantitative Analysis Reasoning
Section-2: Economics
Section-3: Business Studies
Section-4: Accountancy
Section-5: Achievers Section

(iii) There are separate question papers for each class.

(iv) The medium of the test is English.

(v) CBSE, ICSE/ISC and State Board syllabi are followed for setting the test papers.

(vi) The exam is conducted during school hours.

AWARDS/SCHOLARSHIPS/RECOGNITIONS
For the academic year 2018-19, SOF will spend over Rs. 15.2 Crores on awards, Scholarships, gifts & felicitations etc.
The following awards will be provided to the winners International Company Secretaries Olympiad being held during the academic year 2018-9
AWARDS/SCHOLARSHIPS - STUDENTS
International, Zonal and Class topper awards will be provided to winners of ICSO.
Each winner will be entitled to one award for ICSO. The winners will be entitled to the higher level award only. For eg,. the international top 5 rank holders will be entitled to awards based on their International ranks. Awards accruing to them for Zonal ranks will be given to the next rank holder. Similarly, school award accruing to a Zonal award winner will be given to the next rank holder.

Each Institution or a group of students should send minimum of 50 entries however there is no limit to maximum entries. Below 50 entries will be rejected for the Competition. Individual participants, not from any institute or group, have to send a minimum of 5 entries.

Group B - 2nd to 4th standard (Age 6 + to 9Years)

2) Art work can be made in any medium, like Water Colors, Pastels, Pencils, Acrylic, Crayons or Paper Cuttings, Oil paints, Charcoal , Colour pencil, etc. on any type of Paper or Canvas sheet.
3) Parcel of entries should be packed properly.

• Entries must be an image of an owl.

• All entries become the property of the International Owl Center and cannot be returned due to the volume of entries received. They will be used to decorate the storefronts in Houston during the International Festival of Owls the first weekend in March, and may be sold or auctioned to raise funds to support the International Owl Center. Some will be kept for temporary or permanent display at the Owl Center.
