This annual contest, co-sponsored by NASA Ames and the National Space Society (NSS) is for all students up to 12th grade (18 years old) from anywhere in the world. Individuals, small teams of two to five, and large teams of six or more are judged separately. Entries are also grouped by age/grade of the oldest contestant for judging. The age groups are 7th and under, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th. The grand prize is awarded to the best entry regardless of contestant age. Students develop space settlement designs and related materials. These are sent to NASA Ames for judgement. Submissions must be received by March 1.

The National Space Society (NSS) invites all 2019 contest participants to attend the NSS 38th annual International Space Development Conference (ISDC) in Arlington, VA June 6-9. Every year, hundreds of contestants attend, along with their parents, teachers, siblings and friends. Special activities for contestants are planned, including:
The highest ranking winners attending will be invited to give oral presentations as time is available.
To the extent space is available, all contestants who attend will be invited to display a poster of their work.
Special sessions are arranged for contestants, teachers, parents, etc.
The highest ranking attending entry will receive the Herman Rubin Award of $5,000 and give a plenary talk at one of the conference's signature events.

Rules
Submissions must relate to free space settlements. Settlements may not be on a planet or moon, although support activities such as mining may be. Settlements must be permanent homes, not temporary work camps. Submissions may focus on one or a few aspects of space settlement and supporting systems, including mines, activities leading up to settlement (such as space hotels), economic and social issues, etc.
Designs, original research, essays, stories, models, artwork or any other orbital space settlement related materials may be submitted.
Submissions should not be longer than 50 pages unless it is essential to explain the work. The project must consist of 1-10 pdf or jpg files (usually just one). Each may be no larger than 24 MB.
Submissions will be made electronically.
The submission must be the student's own work. Plagiarism is forbidden. No part of an entry may copied with one exception: You may quote short passages, but only if the material is surrounded in double quotes (") and the source indicated. For example: "This material copied from somewhere," My Favorite Space Book. Quoted materials should rarely be more than a few lines, and never longer than a few paragraphs. Quoting long passages is forbidden. Entries caught plagiarizing, even one part of a large entry, will be disqualified and disposed of.
Instructors, mentors or parents may assist the student by presenting relevant resources, discussing core concepts and suggesting minor edits, but the work itself must be entirely student produced.

The Kanagawa Biennial World Children’s Art Exhibition has been held every two years since 1981. Held in Kanagawa Prefecture adjacent to Japan’s capital of Tokyo, this event exhibits children’s art from all over the world, and is intended to use the power of painting to foster the dreams and creativity of today’s young children who will go on to become the leaders of tomorrow. The exhibition is also intended to further understanding of the world’s diverse cultures and differences in global lifestyles.

The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation is a highly effective wildlife conservation charity funding key projects across Africa and Asia.

Who can participate?
This competition is group entry open to everyone aged 16 and under. Entries are welcomed from any art groups, classes, year groups or a whole school!

Theme
This year’s competition theme is ‘Habitats of the World’ – the challenge is to create an exciting group mini-exhibition/art display interpreting this theme!

How to Participate

*Each Group’s entry should fill a wall space 180cm x 180cm with a table 180cm x 60cm in front. Be as creative as you can, using anything from paint, sculpture or sewing to recycled art to create your own mini-exhibition! (See examples below.)

*Entry is FREE. Donations are welcome but will not affect judging. (Suggested donation £20).

*When you are ready to enter please complete entry form –  you will need to submit 200 words describing how you have interpreted the theme.

*Alongside your entry form you will need to submit a photograph of your Group’s entry and a video/PowerPoint presentation telling us all about your entry and how you have interpreted the theme. Please send these via WeTranser/Dropbox/Google Drive to jo.elphick@davidshepherd.org (videos must be no more than 3 minutes long). The video/presentation will be shown at the Natural History Museum if you are selected as an overall or category winner.

*Shortlisted finalists will be chosen from the photographic submission and video/presentation. The successful groups will display their entry at the Natural History Museum on Thursday 7th March 2019.

8th World Biennial of Student Poster. competition is organised by the University of Novi Sad and the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.

Eligibility
Open to all undergraduate and graduate students of art colleges where the discipline of poster art is a part of the curriculum.

Free subject: posters made during the last two school years as a part of the curriculum.
Only students at academies and colleges of arts where the discipline of poster art is part of the curriculum have the right to participate at the competition. One can take part with three works at most.

HOW TO APPLY:
All received posters will become a part of a special Biennial's collection at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and can be used in didactic purposes. They will be presented at the Biennial's web site. By filling in the application form, the entrants accept the terms of the organizer of the Biennial exhibition.
The Selection Board is entitled to reject those works that are not in agreement with the undisputed world standards on human rights to identity, nation, religion, language and the like. The organizers of the Biennial have no authorities to transfer any rights to third party in the sense of using and reproduction of works from the Biennial. The entrants accept that their work can be used in non-commercial purposes as well as in the promotion of the Biennial.

The ICSO is conducted in partnership with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, a statutory body under an Act of Parliament, under the administrative control of The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi.

The International Company Secretaries Olympiad:

The test is organized in the respective schools of the participants during school hours.

(i) The Olympiad is a written objective-type test of 60 minutes duration comprising 50 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class11 & class 12.

(ii) The question paper consists of five sections:

jumpthegap® is a biennial International Design Contest promoted by Roca with the collaboration of BCD Barcelona Design Center that is looking for conceptual, sustainable and innovative solutions for the bathroom space of the future.

International Space Olympiad is an international Quiz competition on Space Science and Technology for students of Grades 5-12. Each year with a mission to excite and encourage talents in the fields of space science and technology and intensify the aptitude of children.

How to procrastinate the right way to accomplish your writing goals
Your video has to:

Cover one of the given topics
Be in English only
Have a title that’s catchy, creative, and reflective of your ideas
Be 1:30 – 2:30 minutes long
Be uploaded in one of the following formats: .MOV, .MPEG4, .MP4, .AVI
2. Use one of these file-hosting services to upload your video: Dropbox, Google Drive, Streamable, or WeTransfer.
Note: When uploading, do not set the video to public access.

3. Like and share the Contest video description on Facebook, Twitter, or Google+; subscribe to the Cool.Club YouTube channel.

4. Send the organisers a message on Facebook OR contact us via email at scholarship@cool.club with:

A link to your uploaded video
A screenshot of the Contest video-description shared on social media
A screenshot proving your subscription to the Cool.Club YouTube channel
The answer to the question: “Where did you find out about the Cool.Club Contest?”
Each participant can only submit one video and receive one award.
