20th Kanagawa Biennial World Children's Art Contest

The Kanagawa Biennial World Children’s Art Exhibition has been held every two years since 1981. Held in Kanagawa Prefecture adjacent to Japan’s capital of Tokyo, this event exhibits children’s art from all over the world, and is intended to use the power of painting to foster the dreams and creativity of today’s young children who will go on to become the leaders of tomorrow. The exhibition is also intended to further understanding of the world’s diverse cultures and differences in global lifestyles.
The 20th Exhibition is coming in 2019!

Application Requirements
Over 4 years Under 15 years s of 1st April, 2018
Children born from 2nd April, 2002 to 1st April, 2014

■ Theme
Open
■ Size
Quarto size (within 380 x 540mm)
A piece of canvas should be less than F8 (460 x 380 mm) size.
* Picture should not be framed and matted.
■ Materials
Watercolor, Oil, Crayon, Pastels, Print, Paper collage, etc.
Picture can be made from any mediums, materials and methods, but digital work (CG etc.) unacceptable.
■ Entries
One entry per person
* Picture submitted must be the unreleased original and sole work. Collaboration and series painting
shall not be accepted.
* Pictures with uneven and easy-to-break surfaces shall not be accepted. Pictures containing food
products that may rot or attract insects etc., such as cereal, shall not be accepted

How to submit
Participant should complete all relevant fields of the “Entry Attaching Label” and put it on the back of each work.
* There are two kinds of “Entry Attaching Label": one for ORGANIZATION (school, art institute…)
and the other for INDIVIDUAL. If you use the “Entry Attaching Label for ORGANIZATION”, the
“Organization Entry Sheet” should be enclosed together with all the pictures.

* Copies of the Label and Sheet are allowed. You can download the Label and Sheet from website.

By post, and others
* Customs duty rate and other mailing costs are at the participant’s expense.

■ Grand Prize: Three awards (one for entry from Kanagawa Prefecture, two for entries from foreign countries and regions)
■ Special Prize: The Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Special Prize (one for entry from Kanagawa Prefecture), The Minister of Foreign Affairs Special Prize (one for entry from foreign country/region)
■ Other Special Prizes:
The Japan Foundation President’s Prize, The Japan International Cooperation Agency President’s Prize, The U.N. Association of Japan President’s Prize, The National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan President’s Prize, The National Council of YMCAs of Japan Prize, The Japan Committee for UNICEF President’s Prize (Total 48 Special Prizes. Each two for entries from Kanagawa Prefecture and each six for entries from foreign countries/regions)
* Certificate with the photograph of the work, collection book and gift will be given to the Grand Prize winners and Special Prize winners.
■ The “Earth Plaza” Prize for the 20th Anniversary of Kanagawa Biennial World Children’s Art Exhibition (one for entry from Kanagawa Prefecture, one for entry from foreign country/region)
* Certificate with the photocopy of the work and collection book are given. * ”Earth Plaza” is the nickname of Kanagawa Plaza for Global Citizenship.
■ Kanagawa Prize: 350 works for foreign countries/ regions, 115 works for Kanagawa Prefecture
Certificate with the photograph of the work and collection book are given to Kanagawa Prize winners.
■ Total of prize-winning works: 520

MOTION TALENT SEARCH EXAMINATION

Motion Talent Search Examination is a unique way in itself to pool the most talented students of the country and groom them to pave the way to success. MTSE not only assess how well students understand the concepts they have been taught; it assesses their thinking and problem-solving skills needed for success in Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology and Mental Ability.

MTSE is developed annually by a team of highly experienced Competitive Exam experts and Gurus, with rigorous reviews at each stage of preparation. Subject matter experts develop new questions each year, drawing on their in-depth understanding of the way students learn.


PAPER PATTERN
MTSE Paper for class 4th to 10th will be consisting 10 paragraphs with 2 questions each. Class 11th & 12th paper will be consisting of 8 paragraphs with 3 questions in each.

CONTENT
Students read a variety of concepts in class and supporting books. These concepts cover a range of topics and may include tables, diagrams, map and other visual information.The concepts increase in complexity with each assessment, moving from basic concepts dealing with familiar subjects and then to more complex application of those concepts.

SKILL AREA
Students are required to locate, identify, interpret, infer and synthesize information in and about texts. The skill areas assessed are:

Tinkle Gagstar Contest

 Amar Chitra Katha (“ACK”) is running a contest (“Contest”) wherein an incomplete illustration ("Picture") shall be provided and participants shall complete the Picture by drawing, colouring and suggesting a humorous dialogue to support the Picture. These Pictures shall be provided in the Tinkle magazine (“Tinkle”) in the months of August, 2018 and September, 2018.

Eligibility
The Contest is open for participation to readers of Tinkle who are below 18 years of age
