ISRO National Science Day 2019 Science Quiz, Spot Painting Competition

To commemorate and honor this event always in the future, 28th of February was asked to the then Government of India to designate as a National Science Day in India by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) in the year 1986. Every year NCSTC announces a new theme to celebrate.

In the spirit of this day, ISRO Satellite Center (ISAC) conducts various science related activities with school students. ISAC is organiging various competitions with the objective to create enthusiasm among school students and to inculcate scientific temper among the students.


The deadline for sending nominations for the following events is being extended to 21st Feb 2019.

GUIDELINES FOR REGISTRATION

Participation fee Rs.50 per event

Spot registration can be done on 26th July (Thursday) before 8.30 am.
The students can participate in more than one event.

Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) is new sub-scheme under NMSA through which assistance is provided for Organic Farming clusters in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura, during 2015-16 to 2017-18.

The scheme aims at the development of certified organic production in a value chain model to link growers with consumers and to support the development of entire value chain starting from inputs, seeds, certification, to the creation of facilities for collection, aggregation, processing, marketing and brand building initiative.

Ministry of Agriculture invites citizens to use their creative skills and make posters that showcase the objectives of the MOVCDNER scheme. The objectives are listed below:

 To develop crop commodity specific organic value chain and address gaps in organic crop production, wild crop harvesting, organic livestock management and processing handling and marketing of organic agricultural products
 To facilitate partnerships between farmers and organic businesses (Farmer Producer Companies) in domestic and export markets
 To empower producers with program ownership by organizing them into FIGs with the final aim to federate into farmer producer organizations/ companies
 Develop NER products as brands/labels through brand building and facilitating stronger marketing access under the ownership of growers’ organizations/ companies
 Creating state specific lead agency (Organic Commodity Board or Organic Mission) for coordinating, monitoring, supporting and financing the development and operationalization of entire value chain.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) is the nodal agency in the Central Government for overseeing the implementation of India's environment and forest policies and programmes relating to conservation of the country's natural resources including lakes and rivers, its biodiversity, forests and wildlife, ensuring the welfare of animals and prevention and abatement of pollution. While implementing these policies and programmes, the Ministry is guided by the principle of sustainable development.

Policy Support:

• Conservation and survey of flora, fauna, forests and wildlife
• Prevention and control of pollution
• Afforestation and regeneration of degraded areas
• Protection of environment, and
• Ensuring the welfare of animals

These objectives are well supported by a set of legislative and regulatory measures, aimed at the preservation, conservation and protection of the environment. Besides the legislative measures, a National Conservation Strategy and Policy Statement on Environment and Development, 1992, National Forest Policy, 1988, a Policy Statement on Abatement of Pollution, 1992 and a National Environment Policy, 2006 also guide the Ministry's work.

World Environment Day: World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated globally on 5th June every year. Established by the UN General Assembly, it serves as an important vehicle to stimulate worldwide awareness of the environment. The primary objective of celebrating world environment day is to give human face to environmental issues, promote an understanding that communities are pivotal to changing attitudes towards environmental issues.

The theme: The theme of the World Environment Day is “Plastic Pollution”. Plastic pollution, mainly due to littering and unsafe disposal, is now-a-day’s major environmental concern.

We must realize the concern and do collective efforts to reduce our plastic footprint by way of adoption of methodology of refuse, reduce, reuse and recycle of plastic and getting people to change their behavior of throwing away plastic. This is the major environmental concern.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change invites entries to design a logo for the Ministry.

The winning best 3 entries will be considered for cash award, certificate, memento and invitation for 5th June ceremony at Rajpath/India Gate, New Delhi

Participation in The National Bill Analysis Competition, 2018 is open to all students pursuing three year LL.B. or Five year integrated law course from any recognised University / Institute /College.
The participation is restricted to 20 entries only. The registration will be on first come, first serve Teams may register online on or before 26th February, 2018, 5.00 pm by sending an e-mail stating the same to 'deslrc2018@gmail.com'
Team may be of an individual student or of maximum two students.
Registration Fee for the Bill Analysis Competition is Rs. 7001- (Per student)

Launched last year by Times of India with 11 leading Indian authors, Write India is a unique platform to inspire, encourage and evaluate good writing with the help of established authors. An unprecedented crowd-sourced short story contest, Write India attracts people of all ages and professions and has already turned many dreams into reality. Of the 111 winners declared for Season 1, 33 have already been printed, while many others are in the process of being published. Embarking on the second season, Write India is all set to uncover more of India’s story-telling potential with a panel of 10 star authors!

Last day of submission for Nikita Singh's contest is March 2. Entries will be accepted till midnight.

Write India Season 2 was launched on July 7, 2017 and is once again set to attract the best writing talent in India. MyGov.In Logo Designing Competition for Ayushman Bharat

To generate awareness among the population about these health sector initiatives and engaging them towards ownership in shaping a healthy India, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) proposes a ‘LOGO DESIGNING COMPETITION’ to be conducted in the form of a ‘digital crowd sourcing campaign’ on MyGov portal. The details of the activity are as follows:
TOPIC
Main Theme: Ayushman Bharat.
Participants have to design a logo for Ayushman Bharat.
Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niramayah (‘เคธเคฐ्เคตे เคญเคตเคจ्เคคु เคธुเค–िเคจः, เคธเคฐ्เคตे เคธเคจ्เคคु เคจिเคฐाเคฎเคฏाः’) is the guiding principal of the Government. The Government has announced as a part of ‘Ayushman Bharat’ two path breaking initiatives that address health holistically, impacting primary, secondary and tertiary care system as well as prevention and health promotion.
(a) The 1.5 lakh health and wellness centres, announced in the Budget, will provide people-centric comprehensive primary health care including for common non-communicable diseases closer to the homes of people including providing free essential drugs and diagnostics.
(b) The second initiative under ‘Ayushman Bharat’ is National Health Protection Scheme, under which over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families (approx. 50 crore beneficiaries) will be provided treatment coverage up to Rs. 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.
